High Street Heritage Action Zones (HSHAZ) are part of a government funded programme, administered by Historic England, to unlock the potential of high streets across England.
Thanet District Council submitted a successful funding application to the programme and Ramsgate has been designated as a High Street Heritage Action Zone, including Harbour Street and a lower section of the High Street. Find more information on the Ramsgate HSHAZ on the Historic England website.
The programme funding is both for physical improvements to heritage properties in the Harbour Street area, and also for community activities that will form part of a Cultural Programme from early 2022 up until March 2024.
