Gym Safe

How does it work?

Gym Safe: Safe Leisure space is a new scheme in Thanet. Gym and leisure spaces are encouraged to sign up to the Gym Safe pledge. The Gym Safe pledge is a 2 level pledge that can be embedded in all contracts.

1. Organisational pledge
2. Customer pledge.

Gym Safe has been designed to help gyms / leisure facilities and Thanet Community Partnership (TCSP) to work together to reduce harm through increased training and awareness of issues including Violence Against Women and Girls, Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), County Lines, and other criminality.

We will be providing Gyms and leisure facilities with both Gym Safe pledges, information cards, window stickers that are visible to all users and ongoing support and training if needed or required by the gym or leisure facility to ensure all businesses and the staff within those businesses feel confident in addressing/reporting any derogatory behaviours.

Terms and Conditions

You will be required to:

• Register via our online form
• Add the 2 level pledge into all members contracts
• Provide a safe environment
• Place window stickers into windows and (where possible) display pledges around the gym /leisure facilities
• Ensure all staff are aware of Gym Safe and how to record and report any inappropriate behaviours following your own company policy.
• Not store or collect any data
